Mend Singer 750 Timing Sewing Machine Needle

how can i fix this timing problem please myself? 750 singer touch in sew?

How do i set timing on Singer sewing machine 750.?

My needle hits the metal hook plate when in the down position. I believe i may need to replace the timing belt.
I would like to know how to set the timing on this Sewing machine. Could someone send me explicit instructions.
