Mend Miele G641 Dishwasher Filter

Meile G641 Dishwaher red inlet light on?

The dishwasher was working fine, went to turn it on and the red light was flashing, cleaned all the filters but now the filter combination handle has come off. I can take the silver filter off but cannot get the cone filter out and the handle won't go on properly. I have turned the dual to Stop and pushed the on/off and start button together ( do I do this with the power on. If so the machine starts, no water and then the inlet button comes on as a solid light).

Any help would be appreciated.

Are you saying that water does not enter the machine and that a warning light comes on?

I suspect the light is indicating a water-related problem rather then a filter issue - what does the user manual say?

Operating the controls when the power is turned off will achieve very little.

Your machine will not work unless it has water - you would do well to investigate the water inlet solenoid - or have an expert look at it.
