problem with inlet on miele dishwasher?

I have the same problem have checked the inlet pipe and cleaned the filter and made sure drainage pipe clear and cleaned the bit inside with a ball bearing thing so as far as i am concerned the inlet/drain are ok but the dishwasher seems to still think they are not and is making a whirring noise when I turn it on even if I haven't selected a programme. Seems to me that it needs to be reprogrammed, any suggestions?

You have a leak on the machine which has brought on the anti flood protection. No water is allowed in & the inlet light comes on( the noise you hear is the drain pump running). There is water in the base tray.
If you wait a few days, water will evaporate, or tip the machine slightly to clear the base tray. Turn the dial to the top position to clear the fault light & try again.
It will probably work now for a while, but will need a repair for the leak.
