Mend Dimplex BFD20N Lights Start Light

How to fix Dimplex Brayford BFD20N?

Turns on. Flame lights effect comes on. The elements start to light up, sometimes and then go out. The fan doesn't turn. One year old. Help!

What do we do once we've established that it may be the motor burnt out?? I have same problem Mini Cube electric fire heater; turns on light is fine, flames effect fine, the fan doesn't move and smells of burning and smoke.

You need to establish why the fan is not turning,if you turn the fire upside down (unplug it first ) using a thin screwdriver or similar spin the fan blades they should be very free,if so it could be the motor thats burnt out but only testing will prove it
