The cable became wrapped round the drum - the cable is very probably damaged - look first at the cable particularly the integrity of the connections at each end.
It is very probable that the cable got stretched during the accident and it may be that the wires inside the cable - the individual conductors - broke in two.
Get a meter - borrow one if necessary - check for 110V from the transformer then plug the cable into it - check for 110V at the mixer end
If smoke and a bad smell came from the motor than it may be burnt out - otherwise suspect the cable.
It's unlikely that a falling over accident will have damaged the motor start/run capacitor.
