Renault Laguna 11 Estate 2.2 Dci 2002 UK?

Hi all, on our way to spain when the heater hose split.

Took it off, repaired it and started it, all OK drove 300 miles close to Spain Border, then overheating light
Pulled up, looked and noticed there is back presure and water blowing from Radiator head tank.

So, limped it into a french town, Yes its Xmas Day, no joy here for a while.

But, I am suspecting Head Gasket, issue is, what else.....

This morning outside Motel room, I could not statrt it, so jumped it, and a white puff emmiting from number one injector area, got car started and still 1st injector puffing smoke, and yes water is pushing back through header tank.

So, I would like comments please?

Depending on those comment will make my nect move, get another car and dumpt this or spend the cash to remove the head and gasket etc.

Your coolant system is getting pressure internally from your engine,what that is, is very difficult to determine until the cyl head is removed to check the gasket,warping of the head etc,any doubt it may be worthwhile to get the head pressure tested when it is off also,it may be worthwhile getting a manual for your torques and settings also and the head bolts may need renewed also. There are some liquid repair products on the market for head gasket issues now, how well they work or if they work I do not know but it may be worth having a go with that to get you on your way again,personally I wouldn`t feel confident if my motor had this stuff and relying on that too for reliability etc. Good luck with your repair.

Hi CDC,

Yes issues but I will solve it.

Adding to this - I have good general understanding of cars, but this is beyond me, the car sounds OK when running, but the water back presure is making it impossible to move, if I tighten the header Radiator Cap it expands the hoses all of them too much, so there is a big issue, the Oil is OK NOT milky, thats about it, I am lost to what to do.

Sorry to hear of your problems, it`s an old motor and my advice is to scrap it and in future don`t buy a Renault, the only surprise being it isn`t electrical issues you have.
