samsung rl36sbsw what next?

Initial problem of fridge not cool enough was "sorted" over 12 months ago by defrosting. Occurred again recently and same remedy attempted. Switched on and seemed fine, cooling to -19C.
BUT then stopped cooling and didn't restart.
Switched it off and on again and it started and ran for few min,
After standing for several hours and returning to room temp, the process repeated,
I have had this freezer for 9 years. Is it worth calling out a repair man.
