soft touch F&P OLD dishwasher with front panel start switch prob?

All lights work but top panel came loose and now the start switch behind seems to not be connecting
can I fix this myself.Cant undo the control piece from the right hand side it seem stuck Model 913T.What type of screwdriver do I need too as I have tried Philips and it wont work

It is called a torx screw driver. You will probably find the panel has cracked or broken and will need to have a new panel fitted. It is very common on the F&P dish washer. The type of plastic they use becomes brittle.
