Mend Hoover TC50 Tumble Dryer Machine Works

Hoover maxi 6 TC50 tumble dryer?

Have had the machine for almost 20 years, still looks like new. Works fine. However it has just started tripping off the electric fuse box when I use it.
I notice that one of the electrical connectors on the element is a bit brown as if it has overheated. Could this be my problem? if not has anyone any suggestions as to why it would trip the electric off?
