How can i fix my hoover nextra8 1400AA washing machine model number HNF7148?

I had the same problem. Most probably a control component on the main board has been shorted out due to water falling onto the pump motor from the draw. Stupid design really. It will require a new or reconditioned board. I replaced my board for about £30. I also put a large piece of perspex sloping over top of the pump to prevent a repeat.
