to default panel to factory setting on my alarm?

Hi,i have tried the above as instructed in the accenta
optima engineers manual. this has not worked.i may
have not understood instructions ?
1 power down panel ?
2 understand
3 understand
4 power up ?
5 wait for alarm to start ?
6 power down panel then restore wiring ?
