Mend Strong 6021 Tv Guide Recording

The TV guide on my 6021 is empty?

My box has stopped recording as it stopped receiving the TV guide, still connected to Ariel. nothing re-installs it. I can change channel ok but no details of the program so cannot record anything. how can I sort this out>>

My husband checked all cables, aerial & searched for new channels, but this does not solve the problem. If I put channel number in it comes on & I can record it, or going the "back way" if I know the times of what I want to record, I can set it up, but each has to be done individually, is time-consuming & doesn't allow for series.
I can watch pre-recorded stuff & have many "freezes"/ refusal to turn off etc. If I reformat the drive will that bring the channel guide back?
