Usualy, simply turning the router off and on will do the trick.

The problem may be that your computer loose it's local IP address. This will cause the loss of ALL connectivity, LAN and internet become unavailable.
Look if you can extend the validity period of that address. Make sure that both the computer and router use dynamic IP assigment and set to provide/request a new one as needed.
