Mend Ford Fiesta Mark 4 Driving Gears

Broken Clutch??

I was recently driving my ford fiesta 1997 i think mark 4 and it suddenly wouldent go into any gears? the clutch feels funny? and before the journey i smelt a funny burning smell? anyone any ideas on what might be wrong??
