how can i fix my ford galaxy?

ford galaxy 2.3 petrol t reg. whilst driving off in 1st there was a loud bang .i thought my clutch had gone but it was ok. now driving off in 1st 2nd and 3rd thera is a bang underneath at the rear everytime i go through these gears and a whining noise coming from the front underneath. the engine sounds a bit growly under torque but when it gets past 40 it all sounds ok.
