ford ka keeps cutting out when slowing down?

ford ka keeps cutting out when slowing down or stopping in lower gears mainly after driving at speed or long driving. The car makes a funny noise as it about to cut out and starts jumping but if you put your foot on the clutch it dose not cut out and when it cuts out it starts up no bother
