how can i fit an extention to my phone?

Assuming you are in the UK. First buy some telephone twisted pair cable, an extension socket and a punch-down (Krone) tool.

Remove the faceplate of the Master Socket and connect the blue with white rings wire of the extension wire to connector 2 on the back of the faceplate. Now connect the White wire with blue rings to connector 5. Run the cable to where you have fitted the extension socket and connect the same colour wires to the same number connectors on the back of tht faceplate of the extension socket.

CONNECT NO OTHER WIRES. They are not needed by domestic extensions and can cause problems if connected.
