I hope you can help me with this problem I have. I have a 9448+ Menvier system, the 12vac fuse had blown The system has not been touch for at least 5 weeks and the battery is very low in charge? I have replaced the fuse and the system activated inside only, put user code in the alarm stopped? Now the green LED light is flashing but very dim. Will this resume normal operatios after 18 Hour charge.

Well if you dont have a test meter then buying a bottom line decent one ( Dont get a £4.99 special). Then a new panel would be a good idea.
NOW THIS IS IMPORTANT.
Isolate the mains and TEST for it.
Once that is done photograph the cables in situ and label them all.
Remove and then swap out panel putting everything back in the same holes they came out of. This is so it all goes back the same way.
Then programme as needed, although it will not require a lot of changes from standard (Why these are so reliable and easy to use).
Job done.

While I think if I was just to buy the panel for around £25 from another source would it be simpler to replace the old panel ?

Once again thank you all for your replies...Yes checked all new fuses all ok, recently had a new battery so that's ok..

A couple of weeks ago I did fit a new light fitting on a diffferent loop which set the alarm off and seem to have started these issues. I did contact local installer who came and changed the battery and did what they called a service ( cost me £120 !!) but they couldn't work it out. They have quoted me around £200 for a new system but to be honest it's money I havent got at the min.

I do have the manual and have re-set it and been through every re-programme on there. I'm not overly concerned about the key pad tones and exsit chime but can't work out why the exteranl bell sounds on the test but not when the alalrm is set off ?

Maybe it's time for a new sysyem, I have had this around 10 years

Cheers Again for all your advice

Did you check the new fuses?
Did you change the battery?
Have you had any works done recently, especially carpets being fitted?
Remove all the external sounder wires and mark or photograph the colours and where they go. Then trip the system or do a bell test and using the multimeter see if there is voltage present when triggered. If not its dead.
A new one isnt much these days, £40 ish.

Cooper still exist, but tech will not talk to you as you`re not a registered installer.

thanks for this....just changed all 3 fuses, and done a bell test.

Still no key pad tones or entry / exit chimes. Alarm will set but when activated the internal alarm sounds but not the external alarm. Done a bell test and both internal and external worked...????..HELP !!! Does Cooper Menvier still exsist ? do they have a tech help ??

a fuse has blown inside the panel, turn mains power off, open the panel check the 3 fuseswith test meter, replace the blown one, also replace the battery, too if the system is over 3 years old close up the panel, turn mains power back on,you may have to reprogramme the panel, but try your pin num,ber first,if it takes it,your ok
