How can i fix sky plus box that is stuck standby?

Hi, my box is stuck on stand by, have turned on and off at wall, but it is not even making the noise it usually makes when you turn it back, it's making a slight buzzing sound coming from the side of the machine, don't fancy a call out charge, hope someone can help, thanks!
