Mend Mazda Bongo Starting Problem Key

problam with starting?

Hi I have Mazda bongo, I am having a problem with starting when I turn the key it makes a clicking noise near engine but don’t start have to turn key few time before engine turns,
Any buddy have any idea why It happening

I'm not a mechanic but giving an 'experience several times of the same in my old cars and wife's Ford Fiesta had same problem new starter cured it).-
change the starter motor after ensuring battery is ok.
