starting problem?

hi, I own a Ranult Megane 2003 Classic 1.6v, the problem I have is that the car does not respond to start command after inserting the key card into the card-reader slot. it writes ''press start + clutch/brake'' but nothing happens. at first I thought it was a battery but I got it replaced and still nothing happens, it doesn't show and message except that mentioned earlier. what can I do to get it started? please help.
