Mend Singer 354 Thread Not

My Singer starlet 354 - thread not catching on bobbin?

Just been using my Singer Starlet 354 and it was fine and then the thread from the bobbin stopped coming through. I've taken the bobbin case apart and cleaned it but it's not working. Can i fix it myself or is it a job for the professionals?

first change needle and ensure tension is correct.after that check hook timing by following method,turn handwheel and when needle is in upward motion approx 5 mm from bottom the hook and needle eye should be approx align,hook almost touching needle
