Hoover 1200 Special Edition Heating Element?

I'm having problems getting the damn thing apart to replace it. I have managed to get the top and control facia off, but have no idea how to get the front off. The drum/door seal doesn't appear to have a "clip" around it, it's just "on" and forcing it off is dodgy, I seriously doubt I'd get it back on if I did. I've taken 2 screws out of the door catch, the kick plate is off but I can't see any screws around there other than 2 either side of a rotary control so I assume those are just holding the control mechanism in place, it would be ridiculous for them to be holding the front on as well as there would be no way to assemble it properly if that were the case.
