Mend Turn Hot Turned

Shower body problem?

I have a single handle shower body. When I turn on the water stays hot. I turned the main off and unscrewed the valve thinking something was causing the problem. Reconnected everything then turned the main back on. Now the shower doesnt turn off. Its constantly running. What is the problem. Is it the valve or the shower body itself
