Mend Aqualisa Water Hot Increased

Aqualisa water flow turning off when it gets hot. ?

Hi,

Our shower seemed to turn off as the water temp increased. I understand that their is a safety mechanism that stops the temp at 65deg.

So after some investigations it became clear that the shower seemed to be trying to find a cold water supply to reduce the temperature. When i looked at the flow of cold water when on full cold, it was hardly there...strange as it comes straight off of a high pressure system.

So we are left with a shower that only works when turned to full hot as it does not seem to allow much cold through. Then when it does get too hot, it turns the flow off.

Any ideas?

Have you checked you don't have an air lock somewhere? Your symptons sounded v. similar to ours (hot water but no cold - v. mysterious since the feed is off a gravity tank). A call to Aqualisa suggested that we try testing for that first - and a few gallons of running water later it seems fine. Following their instructions we took the fixed shower head off, connected a hose to that pipe, with the other end low down (draining into the nearby WC), turned the water on, and after some bubbling and spluttering it worked. We now have both hot and cold water! (For a while the hot vanished and we just had cold!). You never know ...
