Mend DSC 9800 Security System Control Panel

to re-set alarm?

I have changed the battery in the control panel of 9800 alarm system, hidden underneath the stair case, but cannot re-set the system for some reason. Is it because I have not shut the cover to the panel when changing the battery? please advise.

Refit the cover and try again,

The system thinks it's been tampered with if the cover has been left off, clever things alarms.
