With the machine unplugged:take lid off machine (2 screws at back and then slides back)
take right hand side panel off (machine facing you)
As you are lookin at the motor/capacitor at the bottom there should be a bulky white connector with wires going through a small hole into the back of the machine, this is for the heating element.
disconnect white connector and then try the machine again.
if it runs o.k then turn power off again and take back lumpy panel off (around 6 screws). the heater element sits in this panel. you can probably see if damaged. if they look ok then dry with hairdrer as they may still be wet.
Failing that it is a new element: Around £35-£45
hope this helps a bit :)
