still sounds like low voltage try jump leads one to engine earth one to battery live and see if it starts and runs better

batterys good just bumpt it into life but it dies in low revs and it just lost all power and the exhaust was bouncing around everywhere and it stunk of petrol dya think i need a new cat.

yes your battery is flat thats your starter as it is not getting enough voltage.check batt terms as well.
