I have a simpson espirit 550 and on the last spin and drain cycle found water was leaking over the top of the wash tub. I believe this was because the machine was spinning but won't drain any water. I was able to drain the water out by lowering the drainage pipe to ground level where it flowed freely a full pipe. I also cleaned the filter.
Sorry but I have to say this. Why do people post answers on here when they don't even know anything about the model in question. The Simpson Esprite 550 is not a front loader so does not have a soap drawer. It is a top loader machine. First thing to check is the switch on the panel for drip dry or normal. Make sure it is on normal. Next, do not manually turn timer knob further around to make it spin. If you do, it will spin while still full and throw water over the top. Let the timer move by itself. It must drain the water before the timer will start moving to the spin mode. If it still won't drain then check the drain hose & pump for a blockage.

If you only got a pipe full of water out, That is not a problem, there is always that amount left in. When the pump stops the pipe would be full, that water would then go back into m/c. How do you mean that it is leaking over the tub, where is the water coming from. If out of soap draw, need the pipes from soap draw cleaned out, remove soap draw and check, you should be able to see.
