Mend Maytag MDB6100AWW 3 Second Light

3 second light on?

I have a Maytag JetClean Dishwasher (Model-MDB6100AWW) and the 3 second light is on. When I push the wash I want, the 3 second light flashes but the wash won't start. I don't know what to do. I've tried hitting the off button to no avail.
