Mend Renault Trafic Fuel Pump Engine Van

why wont my trafic van 2004 start?

please help as I have a trafic van 1.9 2004, turns over but wont start so I called rac and they told me it could be the fuel pump, but I dont have much money to take it to the garage and get ripped off.
