Mend Lights Replaced Faulty

1 of 2 new spot lights (replacements) keeps blowing?

Hi, i have just replaced 2 spotlights on my landing as one of them kept blowing (and they where old). i replaced the faulty one and it worked ok with the old fitting (both worked fine ) but when i replaced the second fitting, the first fittings light bulb blew straight away. i am at a loss as to what the problem could be.
i would appreciate any help

cheap bulbs,or you are touching them with your fingers ,there is nothing in a light fitting that will cause a bulb to blow
