How do I check exhaust fan?

My dryer is heating and the tub is rotating, but it is not exhausting the hot air. The area from the lint filter dopwn to the fan area is clear, and the tube from the fan area to the exhaust vent line is clear.
How do I get access to the fan area to check for obstructions and the fan coupler?
