Operational Buttons and Dials
The front of the machine, which contains all of the operational buttons and dials and the loading door, features:
1. in the middle, near the top of the unit just above the loading door, there are two round buttons, the left-hand of which is the half load button and the right-hand is the on/off button.
2. At the top right-hand corner is the program dial, which is about 7 cm (2.5 inches) in diameter and features a sliding device each side of the selector dial/pointer so that children cannot play with it. This program selector has 14 program choices.
3. At the top left-hand corner you will find the detergent drawer, which pulls out by putting your finger underneath it and pressing a flap inwards to pull it out--perhaps another child- deterrent feature. The left-hand compartment is for pre-wash detergent, the middle one is for the main wash detergent and the right-hand compartment is for such as fabric softeners. The drawer can be given a slight tilt and tug to completely remove it for cleaning.
4. Other than the loading door there is only one other operational part at the front and this is the filter bay. This is at the bottom right-hand corner. You remove and clean the filter by inserting your finger-nail or a coin into a slot in the top of the cover and pulling it forward. You then turn the filter knob anti-clockwise and pull it out.
Program Settings and Descriptions
The 14 program dial choices are:
Program 1: 40 Dg C pre-wash with 95 Dg C wash, e.g. For heavily soiled white cotton sheets.
Program 2: 95 Dg C wash for normally soiled colour-fast cottons and linens.
Program 3: 60 Dg C wash for colour-fast cottons and linens.
Program 4: 40 Dg C wash for non-colour-fast cottons and linens.
Program 5: Super rinse and long spin.
Program 6: Rinse/spin.
Program 7: Fast spin only.
Note: all of the above programs end with a fast (1500 RPM) spin.
Program 8: 40 Dg C pre-wash plus 60 Dg C wash for delicate fabrics, e.g. nylon and polyester.
Program 9: 60 Dg C wash for normally soiled white nylon and viscose with special finishes and acrylic and coloured cotton mixtures.
Program 10: 40 dg C economy wash. This is a short wash for acrylics, mixtures of wools, polyester and wool blends.
Program 10: rinse and slow spin.
Program 12: Slow spin.
Program 13: 35 Dg C wash for wool and woollen mixtures, e.g. delicate washable wool blankets, wool mixtures and silk.
Program 14: Slow, delicate spin.
Note 1: All of the programs from 8 to 14 end with a slow (500 RPM) spin or no spin at all.
Note 2: The half load option for small washes is only available with certain programs. These are: programs 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9 and 10.
Load Capacities
The maximum load weight capacity is 4.5 kg (10 lb) but some fabrics require loading in smaller weights, e.g.:
1. Cottons and linens can be loaded up to 4.5 (10 lb) in weight.
2. Absorbent materials such as towels and flannelette load up to 6 lb.
3. For man-made fibres and woollens load up to 4 lb.
Washing Procedure
To use the washing-machine:
1. With the 13-amp plug in the wall and switched on, place your washing powder and fabric softener (if used) in the detergent drawer or put your liquid detergent or detergent tablets into the washing drum as directed on the detergent instructions.
2. Load the items to be washed into the machine and close the door.
3. Turn the program selector/pointer clockwise to the required wash program number.
4. Press the on/off button to start the washing cycle.
5. After the washing is complete and the machine has sat quietly for one or two minutes, you will hear a click and be able to open the door and remove the clean clothing.
6. After emptying the machine, press the on/off button to turn it off and then wipe the drum and inside of the door and the rubber seal in the door dry with a cloth to preserve their life- span. Leave the door pushed to but not properly closed so that it can fully dry and keep well aired.
Specifications
1. See above for external dimensions.
2. The loading door opening is 11 inches in diameter.
3. The internal revolving washing drum is 18 inches in diameter and 10 inches from back to front.
3. The unit weighs 75 kg (174 lb).
4. The internal heater capacity is 1.95 kw.
5. The motor is 150 Watts.
6. The pump is 34 Watts.
7. The machine can take both cold and hot water.
8. Spin speed ranges from 500 to 1500 RPM.
9. The machine conforms to EEC Directive 82/499 and BS800 1983 for radio interference.
Tips and Guidance for Usage by Visually Impaired People
1. All buttons, dials, etc, are easy to locate and operate except for the program dial. This can easily be made usable with good accuracy by affixing such as adhesive bump-ons, Braille numbers, high-mark indicator lines, etc, to the edge of the dial where the easy to feel program dial pointer points. There is plenty of space between each program number choice to do this. You will require sighted help to mark the program selections but thereafter should be able to use this unit with no sighted help.
2. An example of the time-factor when the machine is in use is, with program 4 for non-colour-fast fabrics at 40 Dg C, the unit will take about 1 hour in washing before emptying and then starting to rinse and spin several times. the whole wash on this program will take approx. 2 hours.
3. If you do not get the program dial set accurately the first time, you should not attempt to re-set it whilst the machine is turned on. Turn it off and then re-set the program dial, remembering to always turn the program pointer in a clockwise direction and never in an anti-clockwise direction.

if you need more info post back, lol
