Mend White 1515 Sewing Machine Spring Tension

white model 1515?

My tension spring wore out and broke. I bought a new one It came as an assembly including the knob, but don't remember the position of the wire that the thread goes thru. I am talking about the clocking. should it be at 9 oclock, 7 oclock etc?

i think you talk about the piece that make the "loop" it should be around the 9 o clock or little above
