How do I get my White 167 cabinet 'knee' pedal to work?

This used White sewing machine, model 167 in its wooden cabinet is a new gift to me. It has a knee pedal in addition to the foot pedal, but the knee one does'nt work. I used a knee pedal a long time ago on another sewing machine and thought it was great. Any clues on how to fix it? It doesn't seem to be attached to anything, except the wooden frame of the cabinet.

Hello Nancy,
You won't find both the knee control and foot control connected at the same time, if the knewe control does not work then it is probably not wired in.
