How do I rewire the ON/OFF switch on a ORECK XL-9100?

I need to rewire the on/off switch, which 2 wires go together? The white and green ? or the black and green? or the black and another wire?

I am clueless about what wires you have.

I think, you have 1 black 1 white and 1 green wires.
But not certain,

Usual european colour code, White and black, are the live wires, green is ground. BUT why do you have 3.
An on/off switch would only have 2, Unless, you have one connection to the frame of the switch, which should be ground/earth.

You may need to repost this, with better wording.
