Mend Oreck XL Did Stop Working

Why did it stop working?

Haven't used the vacuum in a month (used my Hoover)...turned it on (oreck XL) it ran for a minute and stopped...and won't turn back on...I just added a new bag....hate to think I have to put it in for a repair...What could it be??

Oreck Oreck XL Household Appliances, Vacuum Cleaners Did Stop Working

soulds like a fault in the cable,i had this a few times on this type of machine it breaks where the cable comes out of the handle,you have to take the top of the handle off,remove the cable,cut about 3 inches off the end,then rewire it again,make ure you have unplugged it from the power supply
