My 01 grandprix 3800 series 2 broke down think it my transmission?

Have a 2001 grand prix Pontiac , I broke down as I was turnin last night new years too what a start to the year , I believe it's sumthing in my transmission or torque converter because it won't move when I put anything into gear my car makes a loud noise coming from m trans or flywheel it won't move at all at always drive good I have 169k on it everything's been up to date on it fluid wise , plz I could use sum answers I'm stuck
