Mend Tension Sewing Thread

set tension?

When I sew the material grabs and than on the other side the thread is all knotted up. C an someone tell me how to fix this problem? HELP!

thread machine at normal way.to check tension pull cotton to side and if tension is correct needle should bent slightly before cotton start pulling thru.bobbin case tension ,hang case down with cotton thru tension spring,case should not go down.if you cant set case tension by adjusting screw loosen tension spring and clean between case and spring. top tension pull piece of material between tension plates.try and reply
