How can fix my Hoover Logic 1100 Washer Dryer model A8536 Spin Dry problem?

Thanks for your advise Keymatic. I am new to this, so have to check out first how motor brushes looks like and where it is located. But this will give me something to go on. I was afraid it may be the program circuit board or something in the "electronic" section that is more complicated. But glad it's possibly mechanical.

I've never had any problem with uneven load and I seem to remember regardless of the size of the load, it always goes into the 2 spin speed. But maybe someone else here who have the same model can confirm since my last load was smaller than what I normally would have. Yes, everything else seems to work ok including emptying out the water.

And yes, I absolutely agree with you. They don't make it like this anymore. I've had this since mid 1980s and throughout this time, I only need the motor replaced and the door won't open. These are the only problem I've had until now - touch wood !

Anyway, thanks for the suggestion and. I'll post back when I need more help or have this problem fixed. Merry Christmas.

check the tension of the fan belt it may even need replacing as thats an old timer, also the motor brushes may be getting too short and need replacing or out of balance loading if the load is smaller than usual will slow it, is it emptying ok? mind it they dont make them like that anymore
