The instructions with my McCulloch chainsaw tell me to turn both Hi and Lo adjustments fully home (clockwise) but do not force. Then open both 1 full turn. It should then start. Minor adjustments can then be made usually by turning Hi very slightly anti-clockwise. I used mine today - and that's how I got it to work efficiently. It's 20 years old!
