Mend Amana LW8203W2 Washer Load Water

My LW8203W2 amana washer is leaking from the top?

On a large load the water seems to go up onto the white plastic ring at the top of the drum and then drips down on the outside of the drum.. It doesn't happen on med and med/large loads. This is an Amana top load. 16 years old.
