Mend KitchenAid KSM75 Kitchenaid Mixer Speed Control

My Kitchen Aid Mixer won't turn off!?

I have a Kitchen Aid classic mixer that is two years old. Today, as I was using it, it wouldn't turn off. It will slide to the off position but when will spring back from "off" to lowest speed position. It springs backs.
