peugeot 307 cuts out when i brake/ slow down approaching a junction?

Thankfully I don't have any issues with the car cutting out at speed. It doesn't always happen but some days it's almost everytime I brake. I don't get any fault lights and it isn't the anti pollution fault. Can anybody suggest what the problem is? It's an 03 plate 307 rapier...very worrying!!
