Mend Tower Will Not Switch

Tower will not switch on?

My desktop pc has worked fine up until last week when i went to switch the tower on and nothing happened. I have checked the fuse in plug as i thought maybe the fuse had gone but that is fine.

First, follow this basic, elementary check list:

- Check that the power cord is properly connected at both ends. It may have been accidently disconnected.
make sure it's not broken/cut.
If the power cord is damaged, REPLACE it ASAP!

- If you use a power strip, make sure that is't properly connected into the wall AND turned ON.
If the leds are off or red/amber when properly plugged in the wall socket, it need to be replaced.
If it shows some damage, replace it.

- It's possible that the power switch have become disconnected.

Open the case and check that the whires comming from the front of the case are connected to the motherboard.
If the power switch connector is disconnected, push it back in. You may need to consult your user manual to find exactly where it must be connected.

-- Then, if you still can't power up, you may think about replacing the power supply.
Get a new one of about the same power rating as the original one. A power supply of over 500W is mostly a bragging argument...
