Likely problem?

hi there.........the easier solution would be that the footrest upper safety edge was hitting the step going up when someone was sitting on lift, but it sounds like wires in your trailing cable are breaking,,what i would suggest you to do to confirm this is to wind your stairlift down so far so you can pull on the trailing cable[above carriage] and see if the red light on armrest flickers on/off..most trailing cables only last 2 to 5 years depending on useage of lift some have dates on them to tell you when trailing cable was manufactured..........hop this helps...ian--portsmouth u/k
