How can I remove a jammed filter on a Beko wma 765 s?

My Beko wma 765 s works perfectly, I can not how ever get the filter out as it is jammed and looks like it is on its side. It is wedged in pretty tight, how do I get at it to free it off. There is a terrible smell of rotten eggs coming from it.
