Mend Hotpoint Aquarius Turning Water Hot

think i may have to buy new shower?

hotpoint aqaurius shower
after use
when turning off shower it carrys on boiling the water and come out of head very very hot
then overheat light comes on and it shuts down , is it worth fixing or buy new shower
9 yrs old ????
