Mend Reddmango MR118 Light Work Changed

Can someone throw some light on how to work the Reddmango MR118? ?

I've already changed it once, the 2nd Reddmango is worse. Is there someone who can advise me? I have Windows Media Player with my CD's on, I would like to put my CDs on to the MP3 (simples: you would have thought!) but no response at all... I don't know if it's the MP3 or my computer that's wrong? Would be great to get some help, thanks.
